Rudy was 10 years old which is a little hard to accept as our first cat lived to be 21 years old. But we are at peace with this decision because Rudy had been loosing lots of weight, and we took him to the vet 2 weeks ago and he was diagnosed with Diabetes. My mom took him in this morning for a blood sugar check, since he was still adjusting to his insulin (wasn't adjusting well) and they said he had a fever and needed antibiotics. As Rudy's health was declining, we decided prolonging his life wasn't good for Rudy and keeping him alive would only be financially draining and cruel to him. I was in the 7th grade when we got Rudy, he was just 4 weeks old. He was so sweet and tiny! He was actually too young to be away from his mother so he would suck on your ear as a kitten as if he was nursing! Now I have been married 2 and half years and have fond memories of sweet Rudy and will miss him dearly. Please keep my family in your prayers, especially my Mom. They had a special bond and it was extremely sad for her to make this choice. We are all saddened, however, we do understand that he is "just a cat" and loosing a pet is a small sadness in this world where people are loosing people. Here are some sweet memories of Rudy...
