Seven weeks and they are GROWING! They have started to develop more personality and I have caught them smiling some :) Here are some moments from our week...

We finally have a smile....

After 6 weeks of my Jack Henry's serious (but still adorable) faces like these...

We finally have a SMILER....

I didn't capture the SWEETNESS of one of his full smiles, but you can see, it is still a smile :)

6 weeks...

Sunday, September 23, 2012

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I feel like 6 weeks is such a milestone... it is truly the only time your baby is a "newborn." I remember a lot of mothers of twins telling me "just make it through the first 6 weeks" and to be honest, these sweet wonderful babies have made the first 6 weeks easy and joyful. This week (5th week) we started letting the babies sleep as long as they will through the night. I usually feed them at 10pm and then we put them down for the night, then one will usually wake up around 3ish, so we feed them (yes we feed them at the same time, ALWAYS... more on this later) and then put them down and then I wake them up at 7am to start our day's routine. It has been nice getting some more sleep now! We also had a big week as we made our first over night trip to Louisville with the babes. We celebrated Luke's dad's birthday and then the babies met their great grandmothers and a couple of aunts as well. We worshiped at Southeast which was wonderful and we were blessed watched our precious nephew Lane baptize his friend Chase. It was a wonderful weekend and we are just soaking up each and every moment! Here are some photos from our week..

More soon :)

Month One Doctor's Appointment

Thursday, September 20, 2012

We took the babies for their one month check up and they look great! We were so thankful for such a healthy appointment. Here is what the babies stats were...

Jack Henry:
Weight: 8lb 15oz (birth weight 6lb 6oz) 50th percentile
Length: 20.75 inches (19.5 at birth) 50th percentile
Head circumference: 90th percentile!!!! Takes after daddy :)

They were impressed with Jack Henry's strength... his head and neck strength, his stepping reflex and they said his chest looked like a body builder :) He will get a kick out of that one day I am sure.

Hadley:
Weight: 9lb 80z (birth weight 6lb 7oz) 75th percentile
Length: 20.75 inches (19.5 at birth) 50th percentile
Head circumference: 90th percentile! Out babies have some large noggins.

They were so happy with their weight gain, so it looks like the breast feeding is working! They had to each get one shot (Hep B) and they come back in one month for their 2 month check up. I can't believe how fast my sweet babies are growing! They are almost 6 weeks!!! Where does time go? I will leave you with this...
