Winter walk

Monday, January 31, 2011

Luke and I decided to go on a (what seemed to be a good idea at the time) walk. It was FREEZING and we locked ourselves out of our condo! Whoo hoo! We had a great time though and I had fun playing with my camera! Here is what we saw...

We are getting an Ice storm tonight! Burrrrrrr. Stay warm and cozy, spring will be here soon!

Please go on sale....

Saturday, January 29, 2011

Although I love the lamps we have on our nightstands, I want something a bit more subtantial. Here are some PB lamps I would love to go on sale so I can afford to purchase them...

and especially these mercury and burlap...

These are a bit more in my price range...

But I think I will wait until they go on sale.

An early delivery...

Thursday, January 27, 2011

I was so excited to see a package arrive 5 weeks before it was supposed to ship...

The Euro Shams have not yet arrived, I think it will tie it all together much better!

As for my weight loss... still eating healthy and doing great! However, I was pretty bummed as I lost ZERO at my weigh in this week. I am totally okay with it though! I think my body is adjusting and I started to work out last week.. maybe gaining muscle (I like to tell myself that anyway :)
I will post when I receive the EURO pillow shams in a couple of weeks!

This never gets old....

I can watch this video over and over again, and it gives me chills every time. If ever I need a refresher on who my King is, I watch this! I hope this starts your week off remembering the unfailing love of the Lord.

The furniture that ate the room...

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Hello Everyone! I thought I would update ya'll on the bedroom status. We finally received the last piece of furniture that we ordered for our master bedroom 6 months ago! It was like Christmas, since we had the rest of our furniture for several months already. However, it accentuates how small the bedroom is for our furniture! We aren't going to be in this condo forever, but we will always have this furniture, so I am sure it will look better in our next place :) I also added three euro pillows to our bed which really add a lot of fullness! My duvet and euro covers are still on back order until 3/4/11... so once that comes in the mail, the bed will finally be complete! Here is what we have....

We will either hang something above the dresser or put a TV there... not sure?

This is a view from the outside of our door to show how crazy too big for the room it is!

For now, I just added some random objects to make it not look so empty until we get something permanent
And finally, I played a little with my camera...

Moo says, "Happy Saturday Night!"

Made to Crave

Thursday, January 13, 2011

As I have shared with you before, my battle with weight is definitely a spiritual battle of bondage. I know there is so much victory for me in this, that I will only gain from the self control that the Lord provides me. I have gone over a week, eating healthy and exercising and still finding myself totally satisfied... not in over indulging in food but in my walk with the Lord and the healthy choices I am making for my body. I shared with you that I am doing weight watchers but most importantly I am going through some devotionals from "Made to Crave" You can check them out on KLOVE HERE. It is a spiritual diet of discipline and learning not to crave food but to crave the relationship and freedom of Jesus Christ. I will share an excerpt that I love...

We were made for more. More than this failure … more than this cycle … more than being ruled by our taste buds, body image, rationalizations, and guilt. We were made for victory. Sometimes we just have to find our way to that truth.

AMEN to that if you struggle with body image and health! I pray each of you crave God over all other cravings whether it food, or any other obstacle that keeps you further from God.

Weight Watchers...

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

This year I decided to finally get on a healthy eating plan that I would stick to to loose some pounds and more importantly become healthier. My weight issues go deeper than just a diet which I could go on and on about, another time, another day, but my recent weight watchers plan is really working for me. The new  points plus plan is AWESOME. You can eat all fruits and veggies for FREE and you get a large number of points to blow each week. It is so live-able and I had my first weigh-in since I joined last week and I lost 1.8 pounds. Hey, nothing crazy but a healthy loss I guess. I thought it would be good to record this little journey for encouragement and accountability. Plus oh my, Jennifer Hudson looks AMAZING which gives me great motivation... BEFORE and AFTER.....

I would really appreciate your prayers, and  I pray for all you sweet women struggling with weight!

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.  Though they may stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”  Psalm 37:23-24

Beautiful skin for the new year...

Thursday, January 6, 2011

Okay, all you skin care lovers out there... My mom and I found a new product that you MUST get! Here it is....
It is the OLAY ProX Cleansing brush! It is 29.99 compared to....

Clarisonic at nearly $200 (who wouldn't love this) but for the price, OLAY is a great option!

It feels like a massage for the face and feels so "spa-like" you will be excited to wash your face.

This is what I did...

Step one:

Remove your eye make up and WOW... I have used EVERY eye make up remover out there and NONE compare to "take the day off"!!! A splurge, but WORTH IT! Plus my sweet Momma slipped one in my stocking this year :)

Step Two:

Cleanse your skin, lather up and then use the ProX brush to scrub it around. The brush is supposed to....

1. Clean your skin 6x better.
2. Open your pores
3. Makes your skin absorb your moisturizer better and deeper.

Step Three:
Exfoliate with any kind of toner... I love Clinique Clarifying 2 because it is made for dry skin like mine.

Last Step:

Moisturize your face and...

your eyes (AVEDA rocks)

My advice is splurge a bit on your skin care; if it motivates you to take better care of your skin this year... what a great investment, to invest in healthy skin :)
